About This Project

This custom 14×32 Evergreen A-Frame was designed with a purpose far beyond traditional storage. After purchasing their home, the homeowners recognized the need for additional space and worked with Alpine Buildings team to create a multipurpose backyard getaway that would complement their outdoor living area while supporting their individual interests.

Affectionately nicknamed “Shedlandia,” the building is divided into two distinct spaces, each personalized for the homeowners. This dual-purpose design gives them room to enjoy their hobbies, work, and relax without those activities taking over the main house.

One side serves as a dedicated quilting space. Previously, they had to set up and take down projects on the kitchen table or work in the bedroom. The new space provides a permanent place for supplies and in-progress projects, along with extra windows that bring in natural light and offer peaceful views of the surrounding property. 

The other side is both a home office and recreation space. In addition to providing a dedicated work environment, it offers room to store, restore, and enjoy a growing collection of vintage arcade games. 

Finished with blue LP SmartSide siding, white trim, and an Onyx Black shingle roof, the Evergreen A-Frame includes two dormers, six insulated windows, and two 9-lite doors. These features add light and character while making each side feel like a welcoming, livable retreat.

Through our consultative design process and personalized use of the interior, the homeowners created a shared backyard destination that gives each of them space to work, create, and unwind
